Federal Aviation Administration Grants First Certification of the Year to Open Air

On-Demand Air Taxi Operation located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

WASHINTON, D.C., February 1, 2007 -- On January 24, 2007, the Federal Aviation Administration granted this year’s first Part 135 air carrier certification to Open Air®, authorizing the company to provide on-demand “Air Taxi” services from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.  Open Air is an exclusive “Air Taxi” service with its principal base of operations at Montgomery County Airpark (GAI), located in Gaithersburg, MD.  GAI airport is located less than 20 miles from the Nation’s Capital, making it the most convenient airport for travel to or from Washington, D.C.

Open Air will operate a fleet of brand new Cirrus SR22 aircraft.  The SR22 is one of the world’s best selling, technologically advanced, and safest aircraft flying today.  All aircraft operated by Open Air are equipped with unparalleled comfort and safety features, including the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS).  The luxurious aircraft interior includes leather seats, climate controlled cabin, XM® Satellite radio with Bose® noise canceling headsets for reduced noise, extreme comfort, and quality sound.  The SR22 aircraft can accommodate up to 3 passengers, in addition to an FAA certified airline captain.

The exclusive Air Taxi service offers luxury, non-stop, and “door to door” concierge service throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions.  Open Air provides service to airports and destinations not otherwise served by scheduled airlines.  Passengers will enjoy affordable, alternative air travel.  Additionally, Open Air offers fast, convenient air travel based upon the passenger’s individual schedule.  Passengers will avoid the hassles associated with long airport lines, long security lines, and connecting flights.

Open Air offers one-way pricing within its designated service area.  Therefore, unlike traditional charter flight operators, passengers will not pay the cost of empty flights returning to the originating airport.  Open Air offers a less expensive alternative than customary charter while providing convenience and economical luxury.

Open Air obtained FAA certification with the professional oversight of its General Counsel, Gregory S. Winton, Esq.  Winton, a former FAA and U.S. Department of Justice attorney, 26-year pilot, and certified flight instructor, personally examined Open Air’s management structure, policies, procedures, and aircraft.  According to Winton, “Open Air is a professional organization, run by qualified aviation professionals in the most technologically advanced aircraft available to the traveling public.”  As a result, for the first time this year, the FAA granted an Air Carrier certificate pursuant to the revised mandatory safety standards and Operations Specifications in accordance with FAA Notice N8000.347 (effective 12/28/06).

Open Air will take you where you want to go, when you want to go in comfort and style.  Fly direct, save time and money.  Avoid long drive times, airport delays, and crowds.  Open Air provides safe, convenient, economical air travel and top-quality customer service.  For more information on Open Air, visit www.flyopenair.com or call 1-800-940-2-FLY.
